5. What is the real meaning of prayer?
Prayer really means presenting one’s true state as it is.

6. What is our true state?
It can be explained with simple example of a just born baby. It has only one expression for anything it does. If it is hungry it cries or if it urinates or excretes it cries. Expression is same for all the sensation it feels. Mother decodes its need and accordingly caters to its needs. This can be taken as presenting its true state.
Similarly, what is that we need we don’t know, what is the final point where we have to reach we don’t know, from where we came and where we have to proceed we don’t know; what we can do is to turn our attention fully towards God or Ultimate or Supreme by submitting ourselves totally to His Will. This is our true state which we present before Him.

7. How is prayer redefined?
There is a need to bring in the change while understanding the meaning of prayer. Whatever we may seek for, plead for, request for, after all indicates the same i.e. expectation from God. But our goal is “not anything from God but God Himself”. And that God is very much in the innermost core of our heart. Hence we just have to resign ourselves to His Will. Thus Prayer is redefined as the “Total resignation to His Will”, as against conventional thinking of expecting something from God.

Bila teri madad ke tujh tak hamaari rasai muhaal hai.

As it is already said above that the state of prayer is nothing but total resignation to His Will; it is the preparation to meditate where we suggest ourselves that Master himself is sitting and meditating.

12. Why prayer should be offered with heart full of love and devotion?
With heart full of love and devotion we create a vacuity within so that currents of Divine Grace may descend smoothly. Vacuity means receptivity and smooth descending takes place when there is no awareness of self.

13. What is the significance of bed time prayer?
Before we sleep we are suggested to follow this:

  • In the supplicant mood we beg forgiveness for the wrong committed knowingly or unknowingly.
  • We resolve before Him that we will not repeat the mistake committed.
  • We think over the meaning of the lines of prayer deeply and then even forget the meaning to develop a state of prayer; the animal tendencies of sleep are transformed and sublimated. Normally human being sleeps 6 to 8 hours per day and hence one dwells in the state of prayer in that duration. This will help one to progress spiritually in leaps and bounds
