- Generally people take it ( realization ) to mean a mental vision of the physical form of Vishnu with four hands holding a conch, a discus , a mace and a lotus respectively. But in my opinion such a type of darshana is only the result of grosser mentality of worshipper , for the reason that his own subtler self appears to him in that form, because he had taken up that very form for meditation.
In Raj Yoga the state of mind which develops by the effect of sadhana is quite a different one. In that condition he feels the presence of a divine Force everywhere and in all things and that brings him into a state of ecstasy. Such is the really true state of darshana, or divine vision. The attainment of this state of darshana or vision does not yield perfection.It is only the first step towards the Divine . How muc - It is very essential for everyone to fix his thought at the very outset , upon the Goal which he has to attain so that his thoughts and will power may pave his way up to it.
Our restlessness will pave for us the way to reach the Goal, just like when the time for the beginning of creation came, the latent motion was restless to make the way for itself and its restlessness opened the way for it.
- We must connect ourselves with such a great power by feelings of love and attraction. It does not matter much what conception of him, we entertain in our mind, we may call him our friend,Master, servant or whatever we might be pleased to choose. But he remains after all our guide or GURU, as he is commonly called.
- When I used to go to my Master, people used to come to Him for realization. Now most of the persons who come to me want only peace. Time has brought such a change.
- Everybody is hungry for peace. But the difficulty is that nobody knows what peace is.
- People think satisfaction is peace, so they are not peaceful, but only satisfied.
- The state of peace is dormant , while the state of satisfaction is active. Peace at the Ultimate state becomes non-peace peace, and satisfaction at its Ultimate state becomes gross and heavy.
AB P28 - The condition which prevailed before the start is felt in the same manner now also. This is the phenomenon of ‘He is first, He is last’. The soul has come back to the place from where it had started. A volume is needed if it is to be described in detail.
AB P143 - The ultimate base of every thought is Reality, which gives power to all that one asks for.

- People ask the meaning of life. Life is meaningless in some person’s minds, and this is suicidal idea. Life has its meaning because there comes a force with it and that reminds us of something which should be very precious to those who want to keep it within them. Accepting and turning towards the spiritual life is the beginning of life, and the highest state of it is ‘Life in Life’ which lies hidden in life itself. We should start for that life which is to be entered in to. All our abhyas leads us to that life.
ME P85 - We are bred to have union with Reality, which we have emerged from. We have brought with us the very essence of infinity and we should try to keep close to it in order to give freedom to our thought for absorption in infinite. If we neglect it we remain bound to activity of thought and not to the reality at the root which is limitless.
ME P9 - On looking at people, I feel pity that they have forgotten themselves, and are involuntarily diverted towards the world under the influence of the destructive nature of time.
AB 106 - If the spiritual side is perfect, and the worldlyimperfect, I would call it crippled perfection. Man must try to become a perfect human being, not God.
AB P32-33
- Life is not the life we are living. There is something beyond and beyond. I hope all of us will see the better days if we are devoted to Him and Him alone.
ME P 85 - Duty for duty’s sake is without doubt ‘Niskama karma’ (selfless action) and to realise our goal of life is our bounden duty.
- The only solution would be to break off from this and to connect yourself with that.
VR 174 - That you seek for, will be found close to you, rather with-you-nay, you might yourself be that which you seek for. For that there must be a burning in your heart, which might burn down the weeds and bushes on the path.
- It is no doubt good to serve the cause of others but better would it be to look one’s own moral uplift first.
- When a man attaches himself firmly to one who is neither male or female, he himself finally becomes that.
VR II 67 - We cannot profess our will to be the same as that of God until we shatter our limitation and bondages. This is our real pursuit, and we do it in order to secure merging with Reality.
VR II 156 - There are three signs which indicate that we are nearing the goal. They are
