Lali Mere Lal Ki, Jit Dekhun Tit Lal
LaliDekhan Mein Gayi, Mein BheeHogayi Lal -Kabir Das
The colour (Effulgence) of my beloved, where ever I see it is His colour only, I went to see His colour, I became myself of that colour
As soon as man is born in this world then onwards he starts observing (looking at) others. The more he goes on observing then again and again, the more he develops the desire to see and observe. Probably, it is because of the wish observe and see (things), he begins to see. May be in this process of seeing he is seeing his own reflection. In the beginning, of course- his mother is everything for him. But as he grows, his eye falls on different other things. When forces such as wish, desire, avarice, selfishness begin to do their work, then one begins to strip into turmoil and confusion. In this way due to mixing of friction, heat etc. simplicity vanishes, and gradually the feeling of his own mother fades away Now, at times he starts feeling love, aversion, at times anger, and desire etc. with his own reflection. In this manner he starts developing in himself distortions and crookedness (Vakrataaye), whereas these arise because of the inner impressions (Samskaar), the external temptations and their effects are also not less. Now there is turmoil both within and without and peace and comfort have been lost. At times whenever a big impact or harsh shock is experienced, the thought gets reversed, but only for a short while. Because the distortion and curvature (vakrataa) within has become too much, – more than the crookedness of the tail of a dog.
Even if one gets the thought of getting rid of this bondage, the magical influence has gone into the head so much that it makes one forget it in few seconds. He has slipped (fallen) into it so that he does not have any leisure to think, what (who) he in reality is, what important part he is supposed to play in the workshop of Creator, what his is supposed to do actually etc., He goes on relishing sweet and bitter things but his attention always flows downwards only. His time elapses in this manner. He becomes old, his energies dwindle, and then he becomes afraid of disease and death. Immediately he starts flattering God, doing some kind of worship etc. He is at a loss to know what is going to happen. People say that God exists what should be done or not done. The inner condition has become hard and gross. Even ordinary things do not flash in his mind, whatever comes to his mind; it comes according to his wish and understanding.
In case, one gets the idea of these conditions and the thought gets firm on it, then one should necessarily get the thought of getting relieved from this bondage. The means of getting salvation from this is possible only when one finds such a person who has already attained liberation (Mukthi). Such a personality only can help us in this matter.
Just as an individual has strengthened his thought current and has arrived at the present condition by applying the thought power in diverse ways, one can disentangle oneself from this web (snare) by utilising the power of the very same thought. For this purpose, a simple method (remedy) is that what drama one has taken to be real, one should realise it is only a reflection and starts taking the original as real in his mind and repeatedly ponders over it. In this way one may get an experience of a flash of a little detachment, a little knowledge and reality, our task will become simple and easy if we get, fortunately a guide who has established himself in a higher condition and in possession of the power of transmission.
Even searching of such a guide is an important task. The reason is that one desires to develop affinity with him, in whom one finds ideas similar to those of oneself. If this serves to develop faith in the relation between Master and disciple, then that relation (of Guru and Shishya) gets established. Gradually all the attributes of the Master will be obtained by the disciple also. If these things are right and Master also is one who has attained spiritual perfection then this attribute will be developing in the disciple also, and slowly both Master and the disciple will be totally one in that perfection.
What is the secret? – All this is the efficacy of ‘thought’ itself. When the thought gets attached to anything, it starts absorbing the very same ‘colour’ of the thing itself. The absorption of that colour is in the same proportion as the intensity of the relation. In case, fortunately the attachment develops with that which is totally colourless then man will become himself colourless. He will start throwing out whatever accumulation is there on him and only the real condition will begin to manifest itself. But, normally man does not like colourlessness. He is always in search of new colours. He is always desirous of playing Holi. This desire of various colours is not limited to eye only, but extends to the other senses viz. ear, nose, skin, tongue etc. Each one has its own different favourite colour. Singing, playing, various scents, tasty food, different salt and sweat, hot and cold things etc. are their colours. Wherever these things are there he desires to get the colour of those things will be rising in his mind. In this way, people and their minds etc. will be getting imbued with these colours. Whenever those colours give rise to agitation, then one will think of getting rid of them.
But there is no dearth of guides among us. They promise us that they would teach us method of getting rid of some kind of colour, but drown in some other colour. Some teachers who are digressed create the practice of singing and dancing in the name of devotion; create the fragrances and tasty food in the name of worship and Prasad; create the habit of taking ‘Charas’ and ‘Bhang’ in the name of Samadhi. Now you only decide how we can get liberation. There is no shortage of the different types of yoga among us. Many methods of awakening Kundalini are advised. But it is not known how many among such are really have practical experience. On the other side many mahatmas burn mounds of grains and barrels of ‘ghee’ in the name of ‘Havans’. With this, what they are doing except displaying their own folly is not understandable to any sensible person. Some others display only magic in the name of Siddhis (Yogic Powers), some others make us read sacred books in the pretext of knowledge. But that a real seeker can attain his elevation through ‘Pranahuti’ (transmission) is not found anywhere in strange and colourful displays that are going on.
God has given intelligence to man. By making use of this, let the seekers understand at least what these colours are; and further embark upon pursuing Reality which is different from all colours. And let them acquire the help of one who has merged himself in the condition of such colourlessness and has no colour of his own. When cognises such a condition in his heart, then accepting him as the Master, make effort to get oneself imbued with his own colour. Let him love such a person immensely and with his help get rid of all colours of one’s own and merge oneself in Reality alone.
